If you've already been introduced to the magic of Maxtrix, you probably have some imagination for how it could be tailored to accommodate 2 or more children (especially if one happens to be a surprise!). Instead of scrapping the bed or beds you already have in order to buy bunk beds or even matching single beds, you can simply add another Maxtrix bed with the same headboard design and finish as your other bed or beds and then decide on a layout. But of course, whatever you decide won't have to be permanent: with Maxtrix, you can continually change it up, as your children's needs — and your family size — continue to grow.
Option 1: Two Separate Basic Beds
Especially if your children are younger than 6 years old, you may prefer to wait to bunk their beds. You could start with a Basic Bed, Day Bed, or Princess Poster Bed and can even add a Trundle Drawer for convenient under-bed storage.
Any freestanding storage pieces you purchase can later have mouldings removed in order to fit beneath the bed. Either the 3-Drawer Chest or 6-Drawer Dresser would be able to slide under the bed at the Low Loft level.
Option 2: Separate Low Loft Beds
Especially if floor space is at a premium, you may want to elevate your child's Maxtrix Bed into a Low Loft and make it a Storage Bed, allowing you to use the same size footprint as you would for a bed in order to provide dresser space as well as sleep space. With the staircase and handrail, combined with the extra-high guard rail, a Low Loft Maxtrix Bed is about as safe as you can get for any kind of elevated bed.
If you don't need to save on floor space but want to offer extra privacy and separate play space, you might want to consider a Low Loft with an under-bed Curtain. You could also add a Top Tent and even a Slide — with or without a Princess Tower!
Option 3: Combining Two or More Beds
You may think that bunk beds really require no explanation, but with Maxtrix the options are nearly endless! You can even combine three or four beds instead of just two!
And with multiple bed heights as well as L-shaped/parallel or corner designs, you can increase the possibilities even more.
Just like elevating Maxtrix beds to make them into Loft Beds, instead of purchasing a new bed you can easily transform almost any number of Maxtrix beds into bunk beds by purchasing the necessary extensions and extremely secure Rock-Lock connectors ( YouTube video). If you have more than one child who wants to sleep on the top bunk, no problem! Just join two Loft Beds instead.
