Along with beds, bed accessory pieces, and homework station pieces - which we've introduced in previous posts (see Parts 1, 2 & 3) - of course, the Harbor House Collection includes drawer storage pieces. In fact, it includes a remarkable number, each with its own unique features to recommend it. Each is built using the same solid hardwoods combined with Rustic Birch veneers, with a durable, lightly distressed finish in Pebble White. Each one comes with safety features including anti-tip hardware and built-in drawer stops. Drawers are built using English dovetailing and side-mounted drawer glides with ball bearings. Fully finished drawer interiors offer snag-free style, and drawer fronts feature Traditional framing and a Brushed Nickel hardware in the nautically-inspired Pebble White design. This time, we'll start with the typical clothing storage piece: the dresser.
Harbor House Collection Dresser
This piece is a champion of Traditional design with its framed drawer fronts, crown molding, and bun-style feet. But don't let that deter you: the Harbor House Dresser has a distressed finish to give it just enough casual appeal to create a suitable setting for that laid-back look you're after. The 7 drawers include 3 smaller ones positioned along the top row and then 2 larger drawers in each of the bottom rows. Drawers in the top row include navigational knobs, while the bottom ones have boat cleat hardware instead.
Harbor House Collection Bureau
While this piece is technically called the Harbor House Bureau, it's really just a slightly larger dresser. Only an inch wider than the Harbor House Dresser, the Bureau is 5 inches taller than the Dresser. And instead of 7 drawers, the Bureau has 8. The same basic design with 4 larger drawers, each with boat cleat hardware, can be seen in this piece. The difference is seen in the smaller drawers along the top; instead of only 3 drawers in a single row like the Dresser, the Bureau has 4 while appearing to have 6 smaller drawers, arranged in 2 rows with 3 drawers each, along the top. Like those of the Dresser, each drawer includes knob-style hardware; unlike the Dresser drawers, though, the two side drawers appear to be 2 but are actually deeper than the central ones.
Harbor House Collection Vertical Mirror
Designed to be positioned above either of the dressers in the Harbor House Collection, the Harbor House Vertical Mirror can be hung on the wall anywhere in your child's Harbor House bedroom. With beveled glass surrounded by a wood frame complete with vertical plank details and moulding along the top, this piece will tie in well with the room's seaworthy style.
In our fifth and final post in this series, we'll look at the three chest-style drawer storage pieces.
